The Ensemble
The Tetraflutes Ensemble is a flute quartet formed in 1994 by four Swiss musicians: Monique Dupuis Léopoldoff, Pamela Fleury, Tanjia Muller and Eliane Williner.
Born from the desire to play together, the quartet reflects this aspiration in its music. Since its creation, the Tetraflutes aspire to give a new place to the music of the flute which is more generally integrated within the orchestra.
One of specialties of the Tetraflutes Ensemble is to combine the flutes of different voices to develop a new sound. In this new scheme, the piccolo, the flute in C, the alto and the bass flutes marry their sounds to enhance the tonal palette, to expand the range of the ensemble and to gain harmonic richness.
The Musical Repertory
The original repertoire for a flute quartet extends from the baroque period to the present day with a particularly rich period at the beginning of the twentieth century.
Eclectic and adventurous by nature, the Tetraflutes broaden their repertoire by transcribing and arranging other musical works from around the world. The group is also keen to collaborate with Swiss and foreign composers.
Their CD "Rose des Vent" reflects the diversity of their repertoire and the richness of their sound.
